Pope Francis Dies Aged 88

File photo - File photo - Pope Francis visited Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI at his residence, the former Convent Mater Ecclesiae, in the Vatican on June 30, 2015 to greet him and wish him a pleasant stay in Castel Gandolfo in the Roman hills. Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI is leaving the Vatican for his first sojourn since retiring. He's escaping an impending heat wave by heading to the papal summer residence at Castel Gandolfo. The meeting lasted about half and hour. Pope Emeritus Benedict will remain in Castel Gandolfo for the next two weeks. He is scheduled to return  on July 14.  - Former Pope Benedict XVI has died at his Vatican residence, aged 95, almost a decade after he stood down because of ailing health. About 45,000 port workers across the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts went on strike Tuesday as a midnight deadline for a new labor deal over wages and automation had passed. Tens of thousands of dockworkers have gone on strike indefinitely at ports across much of the US, threatening significant trade and economic disruption ahead of the presidential election and the busy holiday shopping season. Members of the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) walked out on Tuesday at 14 major ports along the east and gulf coasts, halting container traffic from Maine to Texas.
